About the Event
|
The Hillbilly Outfield Kentucky Derby party is hosted annually by a group of volunteers called the Hillbilly Coalition. The
Hillbilly Outfield is a huge Kentucky Derby party thrown by Jim Hafendorfer (of Middletown) and the rest of the coalition
members in the spirit of and during the weekend of the actual Kentucky Derby. The Hillbilly Outfield consists of an entire
weekend overflow of free drinks, food, live music, audio and video Derby coverage, games, maybe even a dip in the pool, and
more, with the purchase of a wristband. Most importantly, net proceeds from ticket sales, donations and the silent auction
benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation ® to help grant the wishes of local seriously-ill
children. The Hillbilly Outfield Kentucky Derby party is open to the public and gets bigger and bigger every year.
Thank you so
much everyone (campers, visitors, helpers, and all) for an amazing and magic weekend of huge support and tons of fun! We sincerely
hope you enjoyed the last year's Hillbilly Outfield, and look forward to seeing you for the 12th annual Hillbilly Outfield and Kentucky
Derby 138.

What to Bring?
You might want to bring your own chairs, as well as a little sunscreen, or a rain slicker in anticipation of maybe some blazin'
heat or a little rain. Also, don't forget to bring everyone you know, and everyone they know and once knew, for the most optimal
enjoyment. Luckily, this year we had some decent weather and lots of great company!
